Daily life can make it hard to work out on a regular basis if you’re a working mom. Avoiding exercise altogether though can be stressful on your body.
We all get the same 24 hours in a day, so why can some people find time to exercise and others can’t? Simple, daily routine! We shower and brush our teeth every day, why not exercise. Well simply put it’s because we know of the problems associated with not brushing our teeth or showering. We don’t brush our teeth we get tooth decay, not showering gives us poor hygiene and the problems associated with it. If we don’t work out we get out of shape.
‘Lack of time’ is NOT an excuse, if you are honest to yourself you’re probably afraid or just have no idea where to start – exercise is a daunting task! To achieve your fitness goals, you must make a start and that’s exactly what this article is all about.
1. Buddies do it best.
Working out isn’t enjoyable when you first start, so share the task with a friend. They will motivate you to continue, and make the whole experience much more enjoyable. Don’t stop at just one, find more moms who are looking to get fit and start a group.
2. Get your funk on.
IPods are a great invention, they help take your boredom from your routines when you hit the gym. You don’t need an iPod though; any MP3 player will do the trick. A good resource for MP3 advice is www.punkypod.com
3.No brainer.
You HAVE to do exercises you love, or at least like. If you force yourself to do the ones you hate, you WILL become bored and start to make excuses why you can’t do your exercise.
4. Slow and steady wins the race.
You don’t have to be a doctor to realize that if you’ve never exercised before in your life, you need to take it easy. Start with one day a week, of light to moderate exercise and see how you progress from there. Nobody needs to exercise 7 days a week for hours. Do what you want to do, and move up from there.
