Understanding Yoga And Life

Yoga is not something that anyone can gift us or we can gift to someone, its a way to perfection in everything we do in our day to day life. Perfection comes when we have control on our moves and thinking and to do this we need to concentrate on them, we need to notice the responses coming from our senses. When we go deep down to the minute processes involved in our thinking and the way we get responses we will realize that we know:

The Answers to Very Basic Questions of our Life:
  1. What we have to exactly do in our life?
  2. What is it all happening around us?
  3. What is cause and cure of everything that is there in this world?

There are a number of postures and techniques associated with Yoga and I am sure we all have downloaded or read a lot about those. But, still we are searching for them WONDER WHY?

Because there is a lack of concentration and because of which perfection is not there and we feel lost.

I have read many books including Mr. Iyengar's yoga books and I really like his mastery in what he is doing. I strongly believe that what ever he has done and given to the community is very precious. He is a live example of perfection and control.

Many people find yoga very difficult in the beginning as there body does not have that required flexibility and they strongly feel a need for "The Guru" or "The Teacher" but they forget that the guru or the teacher is not required to do something but he / she is required to move it in the right direction. A good yoga book or our own experiences can guide us well on that, in Mahabharata if Eklavaya can learn to use bow and arrows by practicing in front of an Idol, why can't you?

When we move in the right direction we will get right messages from our inner self automatically.
Sometimes we start yoga practice full of enthusiasm and determination and we feel we are doing the right thing isn't it a command given to us by our innerself, similarly when we break our yoga schedule don't we feel that something is missing, at that time our own promises, determinations and the beautiful dreams we showed to our self question us from our inside.

Actually most of us are strong believers and weak practitioners because "mind is a slave of reasons" but there is something else upon this called as "Atman". Atman the supreme power of this universe it is the light that reflects from every living body coming from one and only source i.e. (GOD)/the power of generation, operation and destruction, we all have these powers that drive the universe. A pure and siddha pursha can realize its presence everywhere, upon reaching that stage where we concentrate on our Atman, we will realize that there is nothing that is hidden from us. Now we realize that we are the answer to every question in this whole universe.

But to reach at this height, we need to be pure, simple and true.
  • Pure: This comes when what ever we do is free of all impurities and sins (does'nt harm anyone). This helps us in gaining confidence and faith on our self.
  • Simple: This comes when, we do not involve ourself in unwanted / not required plans or tricks. This helps us in saving your energies and level of concentration as we will not be engaged in waste things.
  • True: If we do what we speak and speak the right thing, it will keep us from a lot of problems and hurdles in our path.
These are the three attires/clothes of our Atman, once we start wearing them, wash them regularly and one day we will see the light in ourself.
